The Veterans Administration--Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System is seeking licensed Psychologists to practice in several of our clinics and programs..

  • NWI Psychology now has a Special Salary Rate system for Psychologists. Pay is based on location (Omaha pays approximately 1% more than other locations within our system), licensure status, and years of experience. Pay ranges from 85K for brand new unlicensed Graduate Psychologists to 160K for independently licensed Psychologists with many years of experience.

  • Join the Faculty of our APA-approved Psychology Internship program, and experience the fun of training and supervising new psychology professionals.  Training is a core mission for VA.
  • VA professionals are offered so many excellent free CEU opportunities, usually more than fulfilling licensure requirements.
  • Providers have access to high quality training for Evidence Based Psychotherapy Models, that include 6 month consultation with experts, EBPs at the VA!
  • The typical workweek is 40 hours, Monday – Friday, without call.  Some of our positions offer partial telework, and expansion of telework options is being considered by our leadership.

Your current unrestricted license in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S. or District of Columbia allows you to practice in the VHA. [VA Psychologists must: be U.S. Citizens; possess a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the APA, PCSAS, or Canadian Psychological Association; and have successfully completed an APA-accredited, predoctoral internship training program —or be ABPP certified in the specialty area.  We are open to both licensed psychologists and unlicensed postdoctoral psychologists (or those just finishing internship) for these positions.  Training of early career psychologists is a welcome joy for our Clinical Supervisors!]
