POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Director of Clinical Services will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of the clinical services of the center. The position will assist in management of the clinical requests, including increasing appointments at peak times, and reviewing client flow by utilizing our clinical data to inform our service delivery and to reallocate resources when necessary. The Assistant Director will be responsible for monitoring our data management system, Titanium, staying abreast of updates and assuring CAPS becomes and stays active in CCMH consortium. The Assistant Director will work with the Director to (a) conduct client satisfaction surveys; (b) maintain quality assurance through review and implementation of the center’s policies and procedures; and (c) complete annual reports. The Assistant Director will provide administrative supervision to a portion of the professional staff and assist the Director in performance evaluations. Assistant Director will function as the Director during the Director’s absence.

In addition to the administrative roles outlined above, the Assistant Director is a licensed psychologist who fulfills the broad range of staff roles in the Counseling and Psychological Services Department. These include providing clinical (e.g. individual, group, relationship counseling), diagnostic, treatment, and consultative services; delivering education/outreach programming; and engages clients to establish therapeutic relationships that address the emotional, education, and developmental needs of students. The position requires the psychologist to perform routine case records management. The Assistant Director will provide training and clinical supervision and didactic training to doctoral psychology trainees. The Assistant Director of Clinical Services participates in committees assigned by director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PhD or PsyD from a Counseling or Clinical Psychology accredited training program along with a one year, APA-accredited doctoral internship (or equivalent) required. Must demonstrate having a minimum of 5 years of experience providing counseling to college age clients. Must be license eligible as a psychologist in the US and able to obtain Nebraska license within 9 months of hire. Must demonstrate experience in providing mental health consultation with university partners (e.g., faculty, staff).


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Administrative work experience at a university/college counseling center such as an assistant/associate director or coordinator is preferred. Training and experience providing psychological services to college students which includes providing services to persons of color, international students, non-traditional students, veterans, students with disabilities and LGBTQA+ students desirable. Experience working in a comprehensive counseling center at a college or university is helpful. Exposure to stepped care and short-term models of counseling are also helpful.

 

COMPENSATION

Salary commensurate with experience - Full-time pay with the additional benefit of one month off each summer after working at CAPS for a year. This is an amazing opportunity to work at an inclusive, supportive and caring culture.
