The Center for Disabilities and Development (CDD) at University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital is seeking a Psychology Supervisor. The successful candidate will provide clinical and managerial leadership for CDD’s psychology department and will maintain a clinical caseload.

UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital is the only nationally ranked children’s hospital and only comprehensive children’s hospital in Iowa. The Psychology Supervisor will provide clinical and managerial leadership in overseeing all aspects of The CDD Psychology Department. In addition, this position will maintain a clinical caseload. Management responsibilities include managing fiscal resources, serving as liaison with hospital and community partners, leading performance improvement initiatives, participating in the strategic planning process, and supervising staff members and managing staff training, competency and performance.  Opportunities available to participate in and/or lead research initiatives and oversee selected graduate and doctoral-level trainees and fellows.

At the heart of each team are the patient and family.

The CDD is Iowa’s University Center for Excellence on Disabilities and is also home to Iowa’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program and has provided outstanding interdisciplinary training in neurodevelopmental disabilities for over two decades.

Required Qualifications:

• Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology;
• 3-5 years of experience in pediatric clinical psychology, including skill and experience in pediatric psychological/neuropsychological assessment and experience working with young children and young adults with autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities;
• 1-3 years of experience working in a healthcare management role;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in public speaking and ability to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and work as a member of and/or lead team and work groups;
• Proficiency in MS Office software applications;
• Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines;
• Demonstrated commitment to achieving diversity in the workforce.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience managing financial and productivity data and managing budgets is highly desirable;
• Previous experience working with electronic patient records systems is desirable;
• Previous experience supervising a clinical department and/or staff members within an ambulatory care setting is desirable;
• Experience working in a health-care environment and as a member of an interdisciplinary team is desirable;
• Expertise in applied behavior analysis is desirable;
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and familiarity with healthcare needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and related advocacy issues;
• Knowledge of University of Iowa and UI Healthcare policies and procedures.
