Heritage Health Behavioral Health Integration Advisory Committee Update

(October 2017)

NPA is currently participating with the Heritage Health Behavioral Health Integration Advisory Committee. Heritage Health (HH) is a health care delivery system that combines Nebraska’s current physical health, behavioral health, and pharmacy programs into a single comprehensive and coordinated system for Nebraska’s Medicaid and CHIP clients. Beginning January 1, 2017, HH began providing Medicaid clients the opportunity to choose a health plan with an integrated package of health services and benefits. Psychologists interested in learning more about the  transition from Magellan to the HH Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) may consider subscribing to the HH website - http://dhhs.ne.gov/medicaid/Pages/med_medcontracts.aspx

To pursue enrollment in any of the MCOs, providers must be enrolled as Medicaid providers through Maximus, as has been the case historically. Consider reviewing provider resources on each of the 3 MCO’s websites:

    • Nebraska Total Care/Centene Provider Information
        https://www.nebraskatotalcare.com/providers.html

    • United Health Care Community Plan Behavioral Health Information:
         http://www.uhccommunityplan.com/health-professionals/ne/Behavioral-Health.html

    • Wellcare of Nebraska Behavioral Health Information:
         https://www.wellcare.com/Nebraska/Providers/Medicaid/Behavioral-Health

If interested in pursuing any of the contracts, psychologists must complete separate contracts with each of the MCOs. All of the MCOs reportedly participate with CAQH which helps ease some of the administrative burden.
