Heritage Health Behavioral Health Integration Advisory Committee Update
(September 11, 2016)
NPA
is currently participating with the Heritage Health Behavioral Health
Integration Advisory Committee. Heritage Health (HH) is a new health
care delivery system that combines Nebraska’s current physical health,
behavioral health, and pharmacy programs into a single comprehensive and
coordinated system for Nebraska’s Medicaid and CHIP clients. Beginning
January 1, 2017, HH will provide Medicaid clients the opportunity to
choose a health plan with an integrated package of health services and
benefits, and Magellan will no longer be managing mental health services
after 2016. Psychologists interested in learning more about the
transition from Magellan to the HH Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) may
consider subscribing to the HH website - http://dhhs.ne.gov/medicaid/Pages/med_medcontracts.aspx
To pursue enrollment
in any of the MCOs, providers must be enrolled as Medicaid providers
through Maximus, as has been the case historically. Subsequently,
providers can contact any or all of the 3 MCOs to consider contracting
agreements:
• Nebraska Total Care/Centene
networkmanagement@nebraskatotalcare.com
Tele: 855-688-6589
• United Health Care Community Plan
neherhlth@optum.com
Tele: 877-614-0484
• Wellcare of Nebraska
networkexpansion@wellcare.com
Tele: 855-599-3814
If interested in
pursuing any of the contracts, psychologists must complete separate
contracts with each of the MCOs. All of the MCOs reportedly participate
with CAQH which helps ease some of the administrative burden. Note that
our current understanding is that the MCOs are not obligated to follow
the Nebraska Medicaid fee schedule. See HH common provider questions
at: http://dhhs.ne.gov/medicaid/Pages/med_medcontracts.aspx
The most recent HH
advisory meeting on 09.06.2016 involved review of some of the Service
Definitions which HH staff indicated they aspire to make reasonably
consistent across MCOs. Refer to detailed descriptions of the proposed
service definitions (e.g., Annual Supervision by LI or Psychologist
09.06.16 through Smoking Cessation 09.06.16). Watch the site for future
additions of service definitions, as any changes will likely occur by
December of 2016. http://dhhs.ne.gov/medicaid/Pages/medHHBHIntegrationAdvisory.aspx
Please consider
reviewing these proposed service definitions and providing written
feedback via email regarding your questions and proposed changes. Email
written comments regarding the proposed service definitions to: dhhs.medicaidmhsu@nebraska.gov
